China Enacting a High-Tech Plan to Track People

You can read the article.. basically the government is going to a full mesh surveilance network where all citizens must carry RFID id cards that contain not only their names, SS#s, sex etc but also religious and ethnic background, criminal record, work and health histories and more. All in the name of public safety.

In addition, all citizen must proudly display a velvet painting of Chairman Mao in their homes at all times..

Give america 10 years and this is where we will be. Thanks Bush.

Who ever checks their own blogs? I have a month and a half of posts that are missing…

I have been using performancing to post, well, I guess it hasn’t been posting them.

Anyways, updates…

Going to Vietnam for xmas.. leaving the 27th and coming back Jan 7th. Anyone want to meet in Ho Chi Mihn? Fun times all around.

I went to Kyushu about two weeks ago. Spent some time in the famous hot springs and climb Mt. Aso, which is an old volcano which is still active. Climbed to the top of the Naka peak and enjoyed the great smell of boiling sulphorous water. But the view was fabulous. Pics on flickr.

A lot of aikido.. I have a demonstration coming up this sunday.

Winter has hit here. The nights are getting really cold while the days are chilly at best. But it is the middle of november and thats to be expected.

Goowy.com. This is pretty interesting concept, although I don’t know that it is useful. Anyways, it’s like an OSX session via the web minus all the applications (with the exception of games, rss feeds, mail and calendar.) I am guessing this is the latest in the long line of ‘web 2.0′ apps.

It is worth playing with.

Fix for firefox 1.5 and flash problems

After upgrading to the latest firefox; flash, quicktime and a few other elements stopped working. After some playing I figured out adblock is screwing it up. Simple fix, uninstal adblock, restart firefox and then reinstall adblock.

Oddness… still better then IE.

A new version of firefox is out! Update.. cool features, moveable tabs and faster page loading times. Gogogo… firefox.

A must have extension.. Session Saver. If you are like me, you probably have about 8~14 open tabs.. critical system update and need to reboot? firefox crash? No problem, just reopen. It also synchs adblock and has some other nice features.

Happy turkey day all. No thanksgiving in japan, but we did have a federal holiday wednesday. So we went to a viking restaurant and ate enough to feel that post-feast legathic tsunami hit.. no pecan or pumpkin pie though :(

Finally got around to upgrading my laptop to osx10.4. I did an upgrade just to make sure the cds were ok and then did a full wipe.

I have to say tiger seems to be running faster. I do not know if thats because it is a fresh install or a better code, time will tell.
