Wholy crapola…

Sitting at the hospital, waiting for my mom to come out of heart surgery… In the waiting room, there are 19 other people ranging in age from 17 to 70. The 17 year old kid is the only one in here that could be considered a good normal weight. Everyone else is supersized and overly annoying.. for example..

The 45 to 55 year old women sitting next to me, on skype, chatting with a friend about the latest Britney Spears pictures. Literally, she turned the news down so she could talk to her friend. Even after I asked to be considerate of others she is still being annoying as hell. If she wasn’t using her edge card for access I would be up in her shizznitaz. SO ANNOYING.

Next, there are is a gaggle of fat women here discussing their exercise routine. Which I think really consists of them making laps around the buffet during lunch… and dinner. *sigh*

erokudotcom- now with wp2.5 goodness

Since I am sitting at work on my last day, with nothing to do.. I upgraded the ole blogaroo and a few other things.

I went to the embassy this morning to have more pages added to my passport. I have to say I was impressed with the efficiency of the citizen services group. Perhaps the visa group isn’t so efficient though.

Not looking forward to the flight back…

Mmmmm you can find me in St. Louie…

Where the gun play ring all day nananana…

Coming back to StLouay! Between switching jobs and my mother’s heart surgery, I figured I can spend some time in the hometown.

I will be in town from the 4th to the 25th. Anyone up for meeting up? I will be bringing a guest, so there will be some obligatory tourism; Art Museum, AB Brewery, Zoo, Arch, Delmar, Magic house.. Anything else?

Hit me up.

Who own’s who..

Am I A Torturer..

This is really a interesting read.

Pondering age..

As I am in the initial phase of interviewing, I won’t give up a lot of details..

During an interview, I was told my resume and experience are quite desirable. In addition, someone in my age range is what they are looking for as that younger people tend to be a lot less goal oriented..

A lesson learned…

Well it was a rough weekend. Friday morning I woke up with a sinus headache and the general onset of a headcold. Throughout the day I managed to load up on echinacea, zinc and some cold/vitamin drinks and managed to eliminate the general grogginess.

Saturday morning, up bright and early with a little drainage but feeling good. Off to the station to go to work. (It’s about a 10 minute bike ride from my apartment to the station I transfer at.) I usually take a thoroughfare that isn’t a side road, but is by no means a busy road. Today was no different. At 0830 in the morning on saturday, there are not so many people up in the part of tokyo I live… with that in mind, traffic is almost non-existent. I realized that I am now not the only person to know this.

Coming down a small hill, I had a yellow light, on the verge of green. I normally slow down a tad bit in these cases just to make sure that there are no cyclers or people wanting to do the ole St. Louis stop or rush the red. Today, however, I decided it was early and no need to do it.

The man in the hat..

Growing up, one of my favorite “movie” heroes was Indiana Jones. From Raiders to the Temple of Doom and even the Grail..

From fighting nazis to fighting of mystical hindi shamans that could pull your heart out of your chest, he always managed to survive.. and in style. Learning to use a bullwhip in texas, the only thing I ever thought of was using it to swing from tree branch to tree branch (that never seems to quite work out.. damn texas mesquite…)

Anyways, check out the trailer at the official site. Looks good! Cannot wait till the May 22nd! IJ4:Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Welcome to a police state..

The US administration is pressing the 27 governments of the European Union to sign up for a range of new security measures for transatlantic travel, including allowing armed guards on all flights from Europe to America by US airlines…

Armed guards on flights is not so bad, except when you find out your tax dollars are paying for these air marshals flights, and that they are full price tickets. The providing travelers data and threatening to change the visa requirements is just utter BS. Applying online to come to the US?? Wow.. don’t think this will effect tourism at all? Let’s help the economy by adding this ridiculously idiotic requirement to the list  of already tiresome requirements.

Why not just come out and say, “We don’t want you to come here.” People wonder why the eyes that are on the US are rolling.

Terrorists Evolve. Threats Evolve. Security Must Stay Ahead. You Play A Part.. now move a long before we throw you in jail and put you on the no fly-list…

This is getting a lot of attention, and I have to say it is quite amusing. Trying to humanize a group that does just the opposite to the people they are supposedly “protecting.”

TSA blorg @ hxxp://tsa.gov/blog/
*EDIT: apparently google shows all links, so I had a nice surge in traffic
all referred from the direct href.. I don’t particularly want my site linked directly off the tsa site, thanks google.
*and doesn’t that splash screen look familiar? evolx?

Reading through the comments left by people, it seems that they are actually putting peoples complaints out for everyone. ( At least the civil comments from those that aren’t being complete asses and trolling..) Of course there are the few “We love you thanks…” and “I have worked for TSA for..” This is nothing more then a PR smokescreen to make it look like there is a small amount of intelligence in an agency that gets way too much money and hires individuals with sub-human intelligence and authority complexes.

Digging a little deeper, Meet our bloggers.. Good ole Bob, Ethel, Jay, Chance, Jim are on the job.. let us not forget good ole Kip. If that doesn’t sound like the all american corn-fed, white super team that is out to protect you from them nasty towel wearing ‘terrists, I don’t know what does.

Seriously.. are these people real? I would like to think an MIT graduate that studied EE, Bio and CS would be working elsewhere.. If these people are in fact working for TSA, they are upper level management that has probably never had to endure going through a security checkpoint at a major airport.

Here is an idea.. I would like to see the people actually doing the grunt work writing these blogs. OH WAIT. You have to have an IQ more then that of a rock to turn a computer on. These are the same slags that are keeping Microsoft a float.

Don’t get me wrong. I am a white, middle american kid and I have rarely been harrased or pulled aside for more then a “secondary” screening on my international flights.. But flying out of DET, LAX, ORD.. that blog roll would more closely resemble Enrique, Latifah, Pablo, Cedric and Jon.

Anyways, it will be really fun to watch. I look forward to Ethel and Jay’s blogs!

:(

* Side note, I actually had a really pleasant interaction with a Latifah in LAX not to long ago. Her pleasant voice and attitude was actually quite refreshing for the hell that is LAX, especially considering the dickhead in front me wanted to argue and complain about everything.
