Well, one of my goals or ideas about working in Tokyo was to network and align myself for a decent job when I am ready to come back to America. (I don’t see this happening soon but things change.)
Working in the foreign business group, or global operations group, I am provided the chance to meet NTT corporate people from all over the world. Thus far I have met managers from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Europe and America. One of the guys from the NY office happens to be here on a 6 month “training” program.
First, it is really nice to get the opinion of another american working in the japanese corporate environment. It makes me realize I am not too weird for thinking how screwed up companies here are, but that is for another post.
Anyways, short of the story is, when he leaves in August I will should have a position available to me. Manhattan, downtown New Yawwwk. w00t. And that gives me something to look forward to.
