Seoul….

A bit more..

Seoul is an interesting place. It has all the amenities of a big city and a lot of the magic of the far east. The people on a whole were friendly, very friendly in fact. Communication was a bit of an issue, not a lot of people outside of the tourist district speak english. So when we weren’t able to communicate verbal everything broke down to a series of grunts and hand gestures. Due to the close proximity of Japan, a lot of koreans can speak japanese. RoK’n out.. mainly DMZ stuff

Just got back from a week in the Republic of Korea, or South Korea as pretty much everyone in the world calls it. Went to Seoul and the DMZ { Panmunjom, Camp Bonifas/Joint Security Zone, 3rd Tunnel, and a forward observation post.}

IMG_6562.JPGThis is me and a RoK soldier, I am standing in North Korea.

From picture orientation, the left is South Korea and the right is North. The table is where NATO and NK hold their talks. You can find more pics on here. There are pics of the propaganda village and the 3rd tunnel. Being these are active military sites, photography was only allowed in specific areas.

Steve Irwin.. RIP

Well, he’s dead. From complications (cardiac arrest) resulting from a stingray lancing in the chest/heart. More from the Wikipedia entry.

I am truly saddened by this event. I don’t quite know why either. Maybe it’s because he reminded me that if some aussy can do something really stupid, that I too can do something really stupid and survive.

Well, now I have another archenemy, the stingray…. Ninjas, sharks and the stingray. Oh those scurges of the sea.

And since I am known for my humor..

What was the last thing that went into Steve Irwin’s mind before he died?

Obviously, the stingrays stinger.
