Relax…

Well it is official, I am teaching english to high school kids. I lucked into a position at a brand new high school outside of hiroshima.

Yep, high school. Put your tongues back into your mouths. The educational system here is broken into three years for primary school, meaning freshmen, junior and senior ( or something like that.) Since my school is new, I only have ichininsei (first year students.) My schools name is Hongo Sogogijutsu koko, which roughly translates to General Technology High School. It is more of a vocational school focusing on job skills rather then academia. I am not really sure what this means as this schools is supposed to have some of the smartest kids in the area..

The school is about a 3 minute walk from the train station and about a 30 minute ride from my town by train. The students are funny. The first few days I scared them sh1tless, but now they are starting to talk to me and I get to joke with them. In addition, my supervisor speaks excellent english and gives me the freedom to do what I want. Time for them to l34rn the ph34r.

Anyways, the pay is decent and hours are good enough. Money and means to stay in japan without being a hobo. So far I am actually enjoying it. I will get some pictures soon.
